During the month of march, I like to watch the snow melt and start my veggie gardening. For St. Patricks day, basically I just make a corned beef and cabbage dinner. We don't tend to do too much for this holiday. To me it's more about the ushering in of spring.

We don't really do a lot for St Patty's Day, but during the month of march we get our flowers ready to plant out in the yard.

I know people who celebrate the day with parades, wearing the color green, and drinking green drinks. Many dress up in entirely green outfits to celebrate the holiday. I think one of the reason St. Patrick's Day has become so popular is that it takes place around spring break.

Hope I win, really need the crowns

On St. Patrick's Day, I usually go fishing with my Dad if the weather is OK. I also get a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds while my Mom bakes a Green Cake with Green Frosting (food coloring). And my Mom also makes Ribs, Corn on the cob, and a small salad. YUM! Hungry already!

Definitely getting a shamrock shake at McDonald's ;)

For St. Patricks day, of course, the usual tradition with pinching people not wearing green, but the month of march itself is very busy for me every year. I attend annual music competition for piano at that time, and a math contest or two in that same week... and of course, entering the march contests :) that gold bundle seems awesome!

Every St. Patty's Day my family hides little shamrock coins around the house and everyone tries to find them. It is sort of like an Easter egg hunt and whoever finds the most wins a prize (almost always chocolate :P). It is a very fun tradition!

Unknown said...

Well, the month of march means spring break and that means I get to sleep a lot. With spring break, I also get to watch a lot of movies!

I love the march month contests :D

In my Family, we don't celebrate St Patricks nor christmas nor other holidays, what we do is that we usually stay normal, and each day is just like each holiday. Staying home, doing chores, is what we always do, and that is a special gift, it is better than nothing at all. I like to draw, and mostly of course i enter them into contests.

Thanks for wonderful contest Vale and for great presentation of RSA conference!
To be honest I was quite shocked when my that baby picture appear but then I continue scroll down and saw description and was like whew lolz.

Regarding March & Saint Patrick: Well in my country, Saint Patrick isnt national day but that doesnt prevent me and my buddy's to celebrate one! :D
We usually go to one Irish pub where entire atmosphere makes you feel like you are in Ireland! Usually lots of foreigner people comes to that particular pub on this day and hang out with rest of the guest. Its lovely night cause not only you can meet people with different origin, but you can learn something about some other culture! :D
There is as well one Irish themed Band ( Orthodox Kelts XD )that traditionally makes concert on this day and if you visit that event you may hear wonderful Kelt music that reminds you on fairy's and mythical creatures with a bit of flavor of modern sounds :D So even its not traditional Holiday here, there is a way to bring it to you :D

Regarding March: I love March more then ever from last 5 years cause my niece was born on that month :D I have many dear people born on this month so I love it from young age :D Beside great holidays, its wonderful spring intro and over all energy and life bringer! Great month :D
