When I first started gardening I had a problem with my plants turning back into seedlings whenever I took care of their needs. Fortunately someone on twitter was kind enough to point out that it was because I wasn't taking care of them often enough. Now I check on them every couple hours, and haven't had any more problems.
My hubby and I just planted a small garden at our new place! It was so much fun to break-up and mix the soil and of course planting :D Our son especially enjoyed it, a big surprise considering he usually doesn't like to kid his hands dirty (IKR we're working on that lol!) We only have a few seedlings (that we started ourselves) but our proud of our little garden nonetheless. We're growing cucumber, tomato, and eggplant. I'm hoping to get enough cucumbers to try my hand at pickles but will be happy if they just grow! My tip for gardening actually comes from past experience with tomatoes. In the past we've bought already growing plants and learned (the hard way) that if you don't bury them deep enough the plant gets these little white nubs growing all the way up the stalk. With our seedlings, I buried them to their leaves in hoped that we won't have a repeat of years past :)
A story about my gardening experience: My friend had these amazing towers of plants, with books as little steps to go up to the time. This is back when you could stack the maximum number of plants and cast spells from the top. She gave me one lesson but I still could not figure it out. I ended up with "ghost plants" that look like Elder but you cannot harvest them or move them or do anything with them. They are still in my house today.
Hey Val! My favorite thing to grow is either baby carrots, Couch Potatoes, or EMPs. CP's and EMP's for megas, and baby carrots simply cause they are so adorable! xD My favorite experience while gardening is probably when I got my first EMP as a drop, and then I got my first mega off of it. Oh, how happy I was. :) Thanks for the contest! :D
Take it slowly when starting out; you don't want to run out of energy then subsequently have your plants die. Pests won't kill a plant, but they won't let you harvest until elder however. Plant all at once, don't spread it out over a long time.
One day, as I was traipsing through Ravenwood visiting the teachers, I noticed that Moolinda Wu had a quest for me. I asked her about it, and she sent me to Farley with a request for education on gardening. After a few trips back and forth and multiple examinations of a DandeLion at different stages, I was on my way to becoming a Master Gardener.
For every one who likes gardening there is an awesome post on Duelist and some gardening tips on Central but I would like to share this one with you: I love gardening! I am not expert but there are some things I do which helps me a lot. Usually i dont use pots but i dig soil: that gives me freedom to make desired shape of gardening area. I usually bulk plants: Collect large number of same kind and stash them i 2 layers. Before i plant seed, I : Put my energy gear on, dig soil, and then wait till my Energy gear is full. After that I plant seed. Saving on energy that way. With fairy friend now is much easier to plant, but, before you plant desired seed, you first: Find there likes and place it near planting area then, put plants that your "target" plants like and then summon fairy so that your "target" plants are under all likes when they are planted. :) And least but not last: Cast bug spell one the plants when they reach adult not before that. :)
I hope this helps everyone :)
P.S. Good to save energy or if you missing energy is to go and lvl up1 That will refill your orb :D
I didn't start gardening until later in the game, when I had completed Celestia before the next world was released. At that time I knew nothing about gardening and basically did it the hard way. I was only planting pink laughodils and king parsley. It was a very slow process to level up in gardening. I knew nothing about the high exp of key limes, nor did I know anything about crown shop plants. As I have quested on to newer worlds, I have now experienced the great mob and boss fight drops of all kinds of plants.
My gardening tip is to make sure your wizard will have the energy to care for your garden before you plant. Dont go out and spend crowns on 50 plants and not have the energy to care for them each time. Use your energy wisely.
Story: Two weeks ago, I planted plenty of Prickly Bear Cacti, several Fish on a Vine, and Snow Peas. I made sure I took care of them. After all of them reached elder and I harvested them, I got so much experience that I was able to level up from Adept Gardener to Grandmaster Gardener. And I received at least 15 mega snacks from the harvests. That made my day :D
My favorite thing to grow are Evil Magma Peas for their mega snacks :)

Well one day, I had heard that if you plant a plant, for example a Tiger Lily, if it got Pixie, it would stay as a like for all of your plants even if it was dead. Well, it had worked for the first few days, and then, it died! And I was like, what the heck! xD But now I have it Second Springed so it will always keep Pixie on it ;)
So I logged on and saw my Fish on a Vine with Rank 4 pests. I didn't have a spell for it. So I went around asking for a tc and stuff, and I never found it and my Fish on a Vine ended up dying. :(
I'm a fairly active gardener and one time i wasnt able to take cake of my plants for a few weeks. Then when i finally got back on all of my plants were elders, and thankfully not dead :)
My gardening experience involves lots of energy. being lvl 35 doesnt help it much, but in the end when my couch potatoes give me mega snacks it doesn't matter
gardening experience.. when i first started planting plants i planted so many i about died when i came in and saw all the needs lol. i learned not to do that again
My favorite stuff for gardening if the Deadly Helephant ears. I just love their cute little purple faces. :D My Gardening experience: Well, Since the three years of playing, I've learned how to do gardening a couple months ago. In the recent weeks I garden a lot, since this gives amazing stuff, such as pretty cool TC and Pet snacks. I really like this gardening idea, and I think there should be a Activity that allows workgroup. (Such as building your own Tree House) It would be great. :)
My gardening experience: I'm currently training a hopefully SPUDF pet to mega, and i need mega snacks, but i didn't want to waste 2500 crowns on a mega snack pack. So then i decided to farm boars in Grizzleheim for couch potatoes, and got 3, which i'm currently farming :) Wonder what they're always watching on that tv... potatoe-ly loveee!!! :P
Once, I fought a fish guy in Celestia for a side quest that gave a wand, and I got a seed drop that I found very unusual. "Fish on a Vine", it was called. I decided to plant it. To this day, I am still shocked when the cute little fish goes all pirahna on me.
I was new to wizard101 and new to gardening. When I started to garden, I was like, "What's the point of it?" I sold all my seeds especially the ones that give mega snacks. SOLD THEM! Like they were nothing but a bunch of animated seeds. Finally, I searched up the web to see how I can get mega snacks. At that point all those seeds I've sold, I've now regret it. By the way, this happened to me with reagents. I didn't know how important crafting was..
My favorite thing about gardening is the amount of rare reagents I can get - especially when I compare the personal time it takes to find and transmute some of them!
My gardening experience began with one dandelion and is now about six dandelions and one despargus. My elvis plant died though I am going to get another! :D
My gardening experience has been amazing. Started from the bottom ;) LOL. I started when the gardening concept actually came to Wizard101, so I'm glad I got to be a part of it, and Miss Wu's amazing gardening friends :D

almost everyone grows pink dandelions at some point, so be sure to remember to get some blue yarn for them.
My favourite thing to grow would either be EMP's or Couch Potatoes, because they'll drop mega snacks at elder :)
Thanks for this contest! My sister wants a Red Barn so bad, I hope she gets one!

My gardening tip is to check your gardens before you leave in case there are any needs. That way you won't wake up to nasty surprises.

I love gardening, I can get some nice snacks. it' one of the ways I leveled up my fierce hound to epic.
She is one of my fave pets so it was worth it.

I would love to grow a White Tiger Lily. I have seen my friends growing loads of them in their house and the scenery was fabulous!
My favorite thing to grow is key limes they make leveling faster.

My experience with gardening has been great. It saves me gold by selling my harvest and crowns with mega snacks I recieve.
Tip: If you want a pixie to appear in your garden, I suggest buy a Tiger Lily which you can just get in the bazaar and make sure you take care of it.

gardening tip key limes can increase your xp from 300 to 3,000 and it's a rank 1 plant.

I absolutely love gardening Key Limes for the tremendous amount of gardening experience they gave me.
Tip: Stack your plants when you have a lot of them! Saves energies! There are a lot of guides on the web to help you learn how :)

When I garden, I sometimes leave certain elder plants to make it easier to keep other plants happy!
