Pet a Palooza 2013

Wow this has been a busy month and time is flying by.  I've been prepping a story for the writing League's yearly contest.  I won last year so the pressure is really on to show I'm not just a one hit wonder.  But with that done and mailed off I'm finally relaxing into summer mode.

The summer here has been really cool so far and I like it that way!  I hope you're enjoying time outside with your IRL pets and having fun like I do with my epic Yorkie "Rockwell" or as I like to call him "Little Rock".  Anyway, I don't want you to neglect your in-game pets either.  So now that the month is half over and you've used up all your crowns on the game I am finally ready to drop some new prizes on you!

Yep, 5,000 crowns, 10,000 crowns and Pet codes!

If you're lucky enough to win a pet code you will get
* One Mega Snack Pack
* One Hatching Elixir
* One Energy Elixir for training your pet
* One Random Pet from the list below

Spider Golem
Firewing
Ice Salamander
Black Cat
Lucky Leprechaun
Storm Beetle
Death Scarab
Summer Dragon
Fog Unicorn
Ice Elf
Dark Crow
Myth Leprechaun
Crabling
Snake in a Basket
Fierce Hound

So come back often to enter the contest every day.  The more you enter the more likely you are to win. If you are a young wizard and need help get your parent or a brother or sister to sign in for you.
If lots of you enter I'll post my entry for the writing contest to my blog so you can all laugh and make fun...or complement it like crazy.  Either way I think it might be fun to share a little of what I'm working on like sometimes Rowan shares snippets of her stories. Anyway... take a peek below for the contest entry widget and get started.

When hatching:

If you want to get your partner's pet, go first on the sigil, and click the accept button after your partner does.

If you want to keep your pet, but get your partner's pet's talents, go second on the sigil, and click the accept button first. :)

My best tip is the obvious one. Mega snacks. Lots of mega snacks.

When mixing, ensure the pet you're hatching with has good stats, not just the talents.

If you want to train your pet fast, grow a big garden of either EMPs or CPs to get mega snacks!

My pet management tip is to focus on one pet at a time

As I'm not very experient in pet training, the best hint I can give is to save up your mega pet snacks to train your Ancient pet to Epic or your Epic to Mega, because it will be really hard to do it without them!

My Tip for pet training is to grow prickly bears for mega snacks, then train, then rest.

Pet training is done right with a good amount of pet energy, so my biggest tip: before logging off, wear the gear that will give you a boost in pet energy so when you log in the next time, you are filled up and ready to go!

Try, try and try again. Remember the stats are important not just the talents.

Always hatch with a pet that has spiritely! It's a must!

Be patient!!! Whatever the talent pop up, just stay calm and always remind yourself: this is a very long and long journey

Usually when I train my pets I take my time to prepare for that: Couple of days before training I farm for mega! Also, before training I set up my best energy giving gear. And then part starts :D
I would recommend something like this as well: If you are about to lvl up - Dont do it lolz. As crazy as it sounds its better to prepare like I wrote above and then do like this: Train your pet with equipped energy gear and then when you reach zero, you can switch to your usual gear and do quest. But moment before you are about to lvl up-switch gear to energy giving one again. You will refill your energy orb that way and will regain extra energy for training! Awesome!

Good luck with training everyone!

Have a pet with spritely, it helps you in battle.

well first of all,the subject i chose is training your pet, and i would like to stars off by telling you guys that you might wanna choose the game in pet pavillion that you score the highest in it almost everytime, for example i always go to the maze game because i usually score higher than maximum for four points, as for the snacks if you do have crowns or your capable of buying them or buying membership that is not a problem for you, but for the majority who don't have membership nor crowns i suggest the following snacks: glowing taffy, glowing star fruit cheap but give big stats also glowing dragon fruit kinda pricy but cheaper from others that give the same number of stats these can be purchased in bazaar, or dropped in fights. gardening is also another way to get snacks and mega snacks, yup, i highly recommend prickley bear cactus, because their gold purchased and they mostly give at least one mega snack, oh as for players who have crowns i recommend couch potatoes, evil magma peas, and for members i recommend:corn bread fruit bush, bread fruit bush, and maelstrom snap dragons they all give snacks and if your lucky mega snacks that really help shorten time and effort, but i must say that to evolve your to it's mega lvl i think you should log in every day after your energy is full again and keep playing the pet games and giving your pet snacks, it will take a lot of work but the result is incredible!
if you guys have any questions i'm happy to answer them :)

Make sure even if your pet fails at teen, to train it up to adult so you can hatch with another pet that has the talents you need!

Kevin Eall said...

When mixing a pet, the pet that you want should go in first before you do! Higher chance of getting that pet ;)

Pets are very useful in battle they sometimes provide health or cards to make a wizard stronger. I find deer knight pet very useful indeed. I would teach my deer knight spritely as talents so that he could heal me in time of need.

I think that one of the best tip for pets in wizard101 is to have a pet with spudf , because it is the most useful in arena, or battle. Also the mixing could be a great opportunity to know new people on the game through our pets

Your best chances with training are mega snack packs!

The best way to train a pet is with a lot of mega snacks and energy exilirs. If no crowns for energy exilirs you can win some by playing Grub Guardian

Unknown said...

I best way I think to train pets is that one choose the mini games that you best play and handle and save the good snacks (rank 3 and up) to train a teen to adult and up. So that you can use lest energy

Unknown said...

What I think is that one save the good pet snacks (rank 3 and up) for when you train a teen to adult and up, so that you can use lest energy. And i think is best to try to train all your pets to adult and then keep training up.

autumn said...

try to kevel your pet to adult but if you see any selfish talents rehatch asap the best pets are the ones that help out in battle

Anonymous said...

Train it everyday.. xD

Paige Dreamcloud said...

The best tip I've heard and tested is that if you want a certain pet when you hatch with someone then they should have a different pet, than the one you want, equipped but still hatch with the one you want. Supposedly it increases your chances of getting the pet you want when you hatch. So far it hasn't let me down :D

Best way to train pet is train in morning and at night.

Unknown said...

Well...My best tip for training is that you should make the will, intellect, strength, and agility balance, (just my suggestions) and when hatching, make sure to hatch with epics and high pedigree pets.

the best way to train a pet is putting on a gear with max pet health, i would suggest the gear from hydra's hoard pack, its better to mix your best pet with desirable traits of others, and while in sigil, the person entering second click yes first then the first one. and lastly, give your pet lots of love :D

seanredhammer said...

When mixing pets with other people, it is best to take a screenshot while you are in the hatch window with that person to try to get a better perspective of what and where your new pets stats will be.

Keira UnicornSong said...

My best, humble tip on pet training is not to procrastinate and bear a grudge against long, perpetual hours of training. Setting a goal every day would be beneficial, for example, you would want to do at least ten pet activities in the Pet Pavilion every day. So gradually, your pet will be stronger and older in no time. And whenever there is a pet snacks giveaway, usually during the Pet-a-Palooza season, be sure to claim your free rewards!

Justin said...

I THink the best way to get an epic pet is to keep hatching with another pet that will NOT give you a hybrid and that has a good pedigree. Then, you will get pets that are the almost exact same with higher pedigree's.

I don't know much about pets, but I believe it's best to breed rare pets as then you're more likely to get something new. Thanks for this raffle! I entered as Jonathan Frogblade.

The best way for me to train a pet is use up all my pet energy and then level up to get a free energy refill which can really help to power your pet.

My pet training tip:
Start crafting pet snacks as soon as you can and as much as you can! It's a relatively cheap and efficient way to get snacks for pet training. Also, garden a lot for snacks and mega-snacks.

Unknown said...

I really think all kind of pet activity is good for your pet and wizard. I also think some people underestimate pets, because "they are waste of time". I just do not understand these people. I love all of my pets, even my Piggle (which looks quite delicious by the way).
So my point is: everyone should train raise and PVP their pets, because their training will help you one way or another. :)

Unknown said...

When feeding your pet snacks, it's better to give the same school snacks as your pet, that way, you get extra boost!

Naomi N. said...

For pet training gardening is very important. Couch potatoes give great mega snacks and you can farm them from creatures all around the spiral.

hunter moonhammer said...

Well I would say use all your rank 1-7 pet snacks to level up your pet up to ancient. Once you have made it to ancient, start using your mega snacks. Since every rank 8 mega snack gives 25+ experience and every rank 9 snack gives a lot more, you'll be able to get your pet to epic then mega more quickly

I've never actually hatched or mixed a pet and I've only trained a few my pets so I really have no tips on this.

So my pet management tip is in the pet pavilion play pet games with your pet

I have found that using a crowns pet when hatching with someone who has a pet you want seems to work better than a non-crowns pet. I tried hatching with a friend several times using my best pet at the time, which was my Wraith, and it always failed. The first time I tried with a crowns pet, I got theirs. Ever since then I have used only crowns pets and I hardly ever fail to get the pet I want.

Unknown said...

My suggestion for mixing pet is that, you should have one pet that you want to hatch with a pet that have the talents that you want.

Thanks!

Unknown said...

My suggestion personally is you should start slow on a pet. Don't rush anything.

Good luck too all you pet fanatics out there and wizards that are new at pets.

Thanks for the contest. :)

Unknown said...

My suggestions are that you hatch with 2 good pets, follow up with training as you get mega snacks. train day by day instead of saving up snacks. prevent's the need to use energy elixir.

Unknown said...

When you pet train it's mucchhh easier and faster to:
1. Get snacks your pet likes! Central has a lot of info on what your pet likes in snacks. Generally the school your pet is will also be the category of liked snacks.
2. MEGA SNACKS! you can always buy one from the pet shop, but you can use fansites like these to get an MSP, or you can garden and farm for Evil Magma Peas and Couch potatoes! They drop mega snacks guaranteed at elder.

Unknown said...

My tip is to grow prickly bear cactus and fish on a vine for mega snacks. Both are fairly easy to grow.

I'm trying get a perfect pet on my perspective
