Get on Test Realm and Check out the New Content in Wizard101

I just got back from a hackers conference so I'm kind of recovering from the late nights working the hacking challenges. (My brain hurts!) While I was solving puzzles and winning glory and fame. Wizard101 was releasing new content to the test realm.

Suri and Duncan were kind enough to grab a quick video for you on how the Life and Ice spells look. But I'm sure you'll want to go see what's in Test Realm for yourself.

If you don't have it yet, log into the Wizard101 web site and use the download link for test realm which will appear AFTER you log in. Download it and run the install.  It won't mess up your normal Wizard101 program.

Check out this awesome Ice spell which is a wonderful addition to our repertoire.  It doesn't get any cooler than Penguins!

Jewel Crafters Bundle and Level 110 coming soon?

Here is the detail on the Jewel Crafter's Bundle! Wizard gave us one to try out and talk about.

It's a good thing this awesome unicorn has a saddle!  I love this thing. It feels fast but is the usual 40%.

Here is the crystaline butterfly pet and it's first talent as a teen. (Ice armor card)

Here is the armor. A bit ostentatious but completely cool. How awesome is it to wear armor that I like to think is made of cubic zirconia. Or diamond is ok I guess.

There are some interesting hammers for the following gems. I assume these remove their namesake gems. I'll be bashing some things to find out.

Rockin' the shadow pips here and good block on the shoes! Incoming hearts is always nice.  Granted the crit isn't ultra high but it's not shabby either. Also the tough-plus on the shoes and hat are decent for an Ice Wiz anyway.

SEE! *** level 110+!!! aaaahhhhh!!!  (My guess is November)  When do you think the update will come?

It's Halloween Contest Time!

Around the spiral people have been gathering around to do spooky quests and hanging around dressed in costumes and showing off awesome spooky pets.

But October hasn't been without it's problems...
It was all fun and games until the Jack-o-Lantern's tried to cast a spell of their own.  They were tired of missing out on candy and wanted to be found more easily so people could give them candy instead of the trick-or-treaters. But something went wrong.

Wherever the Jack-o-Lanterns cast their spell they can't be found! These unfortunate areas/rooms/buildings have lost their identity and they need you to find it! By finding the identity of the lost areas you can break the spell and earn some crowns or cool costumes at the same time!

These are found where all Wizards should be able to find them, so please enter even if you're a new wizard.

Wizard101 7th Birthday Events

It's a month of special fun around the spiral, celebrating the 7th birthday of Wizard101.  We are starting the Birthday contest!

Seven things I enjoy about Wiz

1) Originally when I started to play it was to connect with my kids when I traveled.

2) I realized it was really fun and the challenge of deck combat was really fun.

3) Later I started playing because I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I like to finish things I start.

4) I discovered I really enjoyed making new friends.

5) Then I enjoyed PVP.

6) Then I discovered that I liked to keep up with my friends online and enjoyed the socializing.

7) Now I enjoy keeping in touch with my sister and my friends while enjoying some of the aspects of enhancing my gear.  

While I've pretty much given up on PVP and some other things due to the cost and some of the unique school spells that tip the balance a bit in favor of some schools, I figure some day, when my gear is fully upgraded and my farmed spells collected and strategies perfected, maybe I'll show up in PVP again gradually.

Wizard101 Birthday NOW and Live Stream Sept 3rd
